With Windows 8 leaks available and everyone wanting to test the preview of the new OS from Microsoft, we thought it would be a good idea to show you how to install Windows 8 on VMware virtual machine to make it easy for you.
The minimum requirement is just the same as with Windows 7:
1 GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
1 GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Follow these steps to install Windows 8 on VMware Virtual Machine-
First, you need to have Windows 8 build
Second, download VMware from here or from here. Once download is over, you can install the player (on Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7).
From the list, select Create a New Virtual Machine
Then choose Installer disk image file (iso), and browser for Windows 8 image file (iso)
In the next menu, select Microsoft Windows as Operating System and Windows 7 x64 if you have the 64bit version of Windows 8 or select Windows 7 if you have the 32bit version.
In the next menu, do not put any Product key and only enter the name and password (optional)
Now set the name of the Virtual Machine, then browse the location where you want to install it (make sure you have 40 GB of free space)
In the next menu, you can enter the maximum disk-size
In the next menu, click on Customize Hardware, then change the memory if you are installing Windows 8 x64 (keep minimum at 2 GB). You can change the number of cores depending on your setting.
Finally, click on Finish to start the installation of Windows 8 on Virtual machine
